Your Role

In the role of Software Engineer, you will work in one of our teams that focuses on our underwater products such as autonomous and remotely operated vehicles, torpedo systems, and sensor systems. You enjoy working with software both as a developer and also supporting and driving the more administrative and leadership tasks in the area to develop your leadership skills.

You will have a unique opportunity to influence and develop the work methodology within our operations. You have the chance to engage in different parts of the area based on your interests, deepen your knowledge, and work with a wide range of products within underwater systems and will work closely with colleagues handling customer requirements for each product. Contribute to our future development through technology studies and innovation. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with technically skilled colleagues and specialists, as well as participate in testing and verification of our products in their natural environments, such as lake trials.

• Be involved in all parts of the development process, i.e., system work, requirements management, design, implementation, system & production testing, and delivery.

Your Profile

You are a civil engineer/university engineer or have equivalent knowledge, with several years of experience in system development with a focus on software. You have experience and interest in working with software in all parts of the development process. You may have experience working in some form of leadership role, e.g., team leader, Scrum master, or similar.

You will be part of a team where you are collectively responsible for the software at multiple levels; from hardware-near to application, user interface, and data analysis. This provides great flexibility with varying tasks depending on interest and needs. The languages we use are both object-oriented and non-object-oriented. We would like you to have previously worked with both categories.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

You need to be able to read and write fluently in Swedish and English as this is a common requirement from our customers.

The place of employment is Karlskoga.

As the team is located in two locations and our customers are in several places, travel is included in the position.
